5/9/03: Avalon Antiques Market in Wiscasset will
celebrate its first anniversary with a storewide sale
of 10 to 40 percent off from June 14 to June 22.
Avalon opened last June 14th under the ownership
of Bill Belmore, Waldoboro. More than 100 dealers
filled 10,000 square feet of floor space along with
12 glass cases on opening day. Avalon now has 24 glass
cases and has added another 1,000 feet of floor space
to meet the demand of both dealers and buyers.
Customers at Avalon have a continuing
variety of fresh to the market antiques Belmore.
While the majority of our dealers are from throughout
Maine, including Wiscasset, we also have dealers in
our shop from Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri,
New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Vermont., Belmore said.
I dont think theres a day that goes
by when new merchandise isnt brought in.
The names of the 100 plus dealers at
Avalon are listed on its website, which has recently
been redesigned and revised. Accessed at www.avalonantiquesmarket.com,
the new Web site offers a photo tour of Avalon and numerous
featured items with photographs, descriptions and prices.
The web site renovation also coincides with the first
anniversary.
We want to use the anniversary
to thank our many repeat customers and the thousands
of tourists who visit and shop in this area of Maine,
said Belmore. They got us off to a fantastic start
and our dealers continue to build on that success with
the high quality of the antiques they offer.
In addition to the week-long sale offering
10 percent to 40 percent off everything in the store,
Avalon has also organized an outdoor show and sale of
quality antiques on the grounds at Avalon on Saturday,
June 14. More than 20 dealers are expected to display
and sell at the outside show. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3
p.m.
Avalon Antiques operates year-round,
seven days a week. On June 1st, the store hours will
be extended to 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Labor Day, when
hours will again be 9 to 5.
Avalon is located on Rte. 1 south in
Wiscasset in the former Maine Country Store.
